Una  make-up guru es una persona que enseña sus conocimientos sobre maquillaje normalmente  a través de su blog o pagina web y de videos, dónde se graba así misma maquillandose  o maquillando a una modelo. Estos conocimientos pueden ser desde tendencias, técnicas de aplicación, formas de corregir el rostro, reviews de productos que hayan usado, etc.

Estas personas no tienen porque ser profesionales, es decir, no tienen porque haberse formado o trabajado como maquilladores. El secreto de su éxito reside, desde mi punto de vista, en el uso de todo tipo de productos,  en tener una buena colección de maquillaje, el uso de un lenguaje sencillo y agradable, el uso de una cámara y una iluminación que aporte una imagen nítida, y el adaptarse a las necesidades reales de las usuarias diarias de maquillaje y cosmética (trucos, precios, variedad de marcas, etc). Pero lo mas importante para mi es que tengan personalidad, y que le den un toque personal a sus creaciones.

Muchas de estas personas, comenzaron creando un blog, un canal de youtube, y ahora quizás trabajen para grandes firmas o reciban productos de estas para que los comenten en sus videos.

Aquí os dejo con mis gurus favoritas tanto del panorama nacional como internacional.

A makeup guru is a person who show her makeup knowledge usually through videos in her blog or web page, where she recording putting makeup  herself or doing it in a model. These skills can be about trends, aplication thecnics, ways to fix the face, reviews of products used, etc.

These people do not have to be professional, namely, do not have to have trained or worked as a makeup artist. The secret of their success is, from my point of view, the use of all types of products, having a good collection of makeup, the use of a simple and pleasant language, the use of a camera and lighting that makes a sharp image, and that be adapted to the real needs of daily makeup/cosmetics users  (tricks, prices, variety of brands, etc).

Many of these people, they began creating a blog, a YouTube channel, and now may work for important brands or receive products of these for comment on their videos.

Here you have some information about my favorite gurus of both the international and national scene.

Top 1: Michelle Phan

Michelle fue la primera gurú que conocí. Es posiblemente la mas famosa tanto dentro como fuera de youtube. Es simplemente increíble. Algunas veces sus tutoriales parecen leerme la mente. Tras el éxito obtenido gracias a su canal de Youtube a entrado a formar parte de la empresa Lancome. Además Michelle tiene su propia línea de cuidado facial. Se llama IQQU y esta es su web.

La maquetación de sus videos es impresionante y su carisma y simpatía hacen que todo parezca más sencillo y divertido.

Michelle was the first guru I ever met. She’s posibly the most famous guru both in and out Youtube. She is just amazing. Sometimes her tutorials seams read my mind. After her succes gained thanks to her youtube channel she has joined to Lancome  like a spokeperson. Also Michelle has her own facial care brand called IQQU, and this is the web site.

Top 2: Samantha y Nicola (pixiwoo)

Samantha y Nicola son las creadoras de una fabulosa web llamada FashionFace. Su canal de Youtube es el que más visito. Tienen una gran cantidad de videos y el estilo a la hora de maquillar y elegir colores es el que mas encaja con mi estilo.  También me encanta el acento ingles, que me ayuda a entender perfectamente todo lo que dicen.

Estas dos gurus junto a Michelle son las que mas me gustan.

Samantha and Nicola are the creators of an amazing web page called FasionFace. Their youtube channel is the one that I more visit. They have a huge video collection and their makeup style and the way to chose colors is the one that more reflecting my style. Also I love the britain accent, who help me to understand better everything they say.

This two gurus and Michelle are my favourites ones.

Top 3: Miss Pumpkin

Esta gurú es quizás la que tiene un estilo mas marcado. Un estilo que me encanta. Utiliza productos muy a la mano de cualquiera y su forma de explicar es buenísima. Es una de las maquilladoras de la web deellas.com. Es maquilladora freelance y esta es su página web dedicada a su trabajo como profesional.

Algo negativo es que al tener un estilo tan marcado creo que sus tutoriales no los aplicarían chicas con un estilo totalmente distinto, o menos dramático. Por lo que creo que debería utilizar a modelos con más frecuencia.

This guru maybe is the one with a most defined style. A style that I love it. She uses very handy products for everyone and the way she explains is really good. She’s one of the makeup artists of the web page deellas.com. She’s a freelance make up artist and this is the web page dedicated to her job like a professional makeup artist.

Something negative for me, is that her so definite style does her tutorials not aplicable to the rest of the people with a style diferent o more natural. For that reason I think she should take models in more tutorials.

Top 4: Noemí (Contoelstyle)

Noemí es sin duda una de mis favoritas, y me atrevería a decir una de las mejores gurus sobre cuestiones de cabello de youtube. Personalmente todo lo que sea manipular mi cabello o el de los demás no es mi fuerte, los videos tutoriales de Noemí han sido de grandísima ayuda y lo serán cada vez que ponga en práctica alguno.

También su simpatía la hace querer, y la calidad de imagen de sus videos realmente ayuda a ver exactamente cada paso que sigue.

Noemí is with no doubt one of my favourites, and I dare to say, one of the best gurus about hair on youtube. Personaly manipulate my hair or anybody’s hair is not my strong. The Noemi’s videos and tutorials have been very helpful and  will still being every day that I need it.

Her sympathy makes you like her, and the image quality of her videos help to see exactly every step she take.

Top 5: Isabel (isasaweis)

Mi última gurú favorita pero no por ello menos seguida es Isabel. Son de gran ayuda sus reviews de productos, ya que son productos que uso o pienso en usar y viendo su critica tengo una idea de como funciona el producto antes de comprarlo. Principalmente destaco esto y la gran claridad y simpatía con la que explica y habla.

Para aquellas que os guste cocinar os recomiendo que paséis por su canal de youtube donde encontrareis muchos videos con recetas de platos deliciosos.

My last favourite guru but not least is Isabel. Her products reviews are very helpful , because are products that I use or I’m thinking to get, and watch her opinion makes me get an idea about how it works before buy it. Mainly I love her clarity and sympathy in the way she talks and explain.
